Plato
What is Plato?
Plato is a student-centric toolset helping students gain a better understanding and make better use of their existing module materials (lecture slides, seminars/tutorials, etc). It helps students with instant Q&A within the module context and beyond, contextualise note-taking, getting quick formative feedback and create revision materials.
How does Plato work?
Plato integrates with your VLE and uses module content to be able to answer module-specific student questions such as “What did we do in week three?” or “When is assignment one due?”. You can find out more about information about integration and what specific information Plato is using by checking your respective VLE's user guide.
Plato processes and stores module content in a special format which is used for a technique named Retrieval Augmented Generation 🔗 (RAG) to provide a Large Language Model (LLM) with the relevant context and information from the module which it can use to generate a contextualised response to each user’s question.
